Biodiversity
Virtual
Resources builds the tools
that naturalists, citizens, scientists, researchers, collectors and
policy-makers will use to create a distributed network of biodiversity
information related to all life forms. This electronic virtual repository will
contain information on wild and domestic species, including but not
limited to genetics, classification, distribution,
habitat, status and their benefits.
Located in Ottawa, Canada's national capital, Biodiversity Virtual
Resources is well situated to work closely with Government departments
responsible for the environment, natural resources and industry. In
addition, many museums, NGO's and other agencies involved in the
collection of information and the study of Earth's species are
headquartered in the National Capital Region.
